~ Happy 10th Birthday Whimsy Stamps ~

I am back today to wish Whimsy Stamps a very Happy 10th Birthday!!!  Whimsy Stamps is celebrating this mild stone by having an Instagram hop.  If you would like to participate to win some super fun prizes and to get some awesome inspiration from all of our talented designers, hop on over to @whimstamps to begin and to have some blog hop fun!!!

For my Instagram hop inspiration, I used the Christmas Tidings Clear Stamp Set along with the Making Waves Stencil.  I used Nuvo's "Blue Topaz" Glimmer Paste to make the waves.  Isn't this color incredibly beautiful?!

Don't you just love Nemo's tiny red nose?!  He is a clown fish after all...lol  I added a Mini Action Wobble Spring under the sea turtle so when you move the card the sea turtle looks like he is swimming in the ocean.  This gives the card a fun interactive element!

~ Wishing you a Merry Christmas ~

Hello Everyone,

Today's La-La Land Craft's Inspiration Friday Challenge is "Baby It's Cold Outside."  I decided to create a snowy shaker scenic card using the adorable bunny from the Cozy Christmas Clear Stamp Set.  Luckily my little bunny friend is all dressed up in his cozy sweater and scarf to brave the chilly elements.  Aren't his rosy cheeks just adorable?!

I love how his sweater looks like it has texture and depth by using blender solution and a swatch of corduroy.

~ Joy to the World ~

Today's La-La Land Craft's Inspiration Friday challenge is to use non-traditional Christmas colors.  I love Navy and white for Christmas colors so I decided to do a soft blue, white and peachy rose combo...I really love how these colors look together!

The Pinecone Bough Die has proven to be one of my favs out of this release!  I love how the Nuvo "Moonstone" Glimmer Paste looks covered over all the branches and pinecones.  The Winter Mug Die is absolutely adorable and fun to color.  I decided to add Nuvo "Gloss White" Crystal Drops to make it look like whipped cream on top of the hot cocoa and sprinkled a little iridescent glitter on top for some extra sparkle.

~ Deck the Palms ~

I'm back today with my second project for La-La Land Craft's new winter release.  Santa definitely needs a vacation after delivering all those presents around the world before he heads back to the North Pole for a long winter's nap!

I stamped the palm tree from the "Deck the Palms" Clear Stamp Set twice and popped up the second set of leaves to give the tree some added dimension.  I love how the stencil from the "It's Snowing" Layering Stencil Set looks like sun rays when used with different colors of yellow Distress Ink.
I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the Christmas bulbs and the icing of the donut floaty to give them a more realistic look.

~ Hello Winter ~

It's time for La-La Land Craft's new winter release and for my first card I am showcasing the uber adorable moose from the "Cozy Christmas" Clear Stamp Set.  He is dressed up in his winter's finest and is warming up with a delicious cup of hot cocoa after chopping down his Christmas tree.

I created the background by sponging Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over  the Large Stitched Tag and then spreading Nuvo "Moonstone" Glimmer Paste through the new snowflake stencil from the "It's Snowing" Layering Stencil Set.

La-La Land's new Pinecone Bough Die is incredibly beautiful and adds such a lovely touch to the top of their new Large Stitched Tag Die

As you can see, this card is full of dimension and it took four layers of foam tape for me to add stability to his antlers.  I love making cards with lots of layers and depth.

~ This Moose be Love ~

Hi Everyone,

My brother asked me to make a card for his bride for their 15th wedding anniversary.  He told me something cute and fun and this is what I came up with.  What could be cuter than a shaker card and a moose in love?!

I put the shaker inside of another frame and popped the moose on top.  I cut up the sides of his legs and made it look like he was sitting amongst the grass.  You can see the dimension in the picture below.

The inside says "This Moose be Love"

Jingle wave, jingle wave, jingle all the wave....sounds like a good place to spend Christmas to me!  There's nothing like feeling the ocean breeze on your face and seeing nothing but ocean for miles to ponder, pray, dream, refresh and renew your heart and soul!!!

I love making cards with lots of dimension.  You can see the Rudolph Seahorse is on top of a Mini Action Wobble Spring (see pic below) so when you shake the card he wobbles, too.....so cute and fun!!!

~ Candy Cane Forest ~

This sweet little polar bear from La-La Land Crafts is having fun making sugarballs in a candy cane forest in the land of Sugarland.  Didn't you know the North Pole was located in Sugarland and not in the middle of the Artic Ocean?!!!  I love how this scene turned out looking so sweet and delicious!

I created this scene by covering all the die cuts in Nuvo "Moonstone" Glimmer Paste.  Look at all that glimmering shimmering goodness!  This paste dries so fast and is beyond easy to use.  I think I need to buy a case of it!

I love all the dimension this card has!

~ Sweet Christmas Wishes ~

Hi Everyone,

As you know, I love to make shaker cards and I just couldn't help myself making one with this adorable gingerbread girl from Whimsy Stamp'sGingerbread Love Rubber Stamp Set.  To make the shaker, I used Whimsy's "Peekaboo Windows 2 Die" and put dimensional foam tape around each square to create separate shaker windows and filled each window with different colored sequins, Diamond Dust, mini cookie cutters, mini jingle bells, and Shaker Fun Snowballs.  I also put the gingerbread girl on top of a Mini Wobble Spring so when you shake the card the gingerbread girl wiggles, too.  All these elements make such a fun interactive card!

~ Cheers ~

Today's La-La Land Craft's Inspiration Friday Challenge is to use a background stamp.  I decided to use two.  The dot background stamp that comes in the Hello Lovely Background Set is definitely a lovely background stamp.  I stamped it using Lemonade Distress Ink to make the background paper and for the Ship's Wheel Die and the ferris wheel from the London Border Die.  It is the perfect subtle summer color to go along with an ocean theme.  I stamped the background stamp called "Wood Planks" in Walnut Stain Distress Ink and used the Lattice Bracket Die for a pier shape.  I also stamped a second piece of cardstock using the "Wood Planks" background stamp.  Since Distress Ink works well with Copics I was able to color over the woodgrain pattern.  After coloring these pieces, I attached the Lattice Bracket Die piece over the second stamped piece of woodgrain cardstock and trimmed it to match.  I really love how the pier turned out!  Now "At The Beach Molli" has the perfect place to sit and enjoy the view and sip her lemonade in her super duper cute watermelon bikini.

To make the ferris wheel look like it was all lit up I added rhinestones and I added Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops to the waves to make them look like they had white caps.  This card was so much fun to create!

~ Magical Winter Wishes ~

Hi All,

I'm here today sharing one of Whimsy Stamp's new releases called "Favorite Flake".  It is such a cute set and I couldn't resist making a card using this darling Unicorn trying to catch snowflakes on its tongue.  In a magical world, Unicorns come in all kinds of colors so I decided to use lovely shades of lavender or in Copic terms, blue-violets.

I used Whimsy's Snow Dangle Stencil and Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. I also spread the paste over the cloud die cut.  Look at all that shimmery goodness!  This paste is so easy to use and dries super duper fast.  It's translucent so you can achieve different effects by using it by itself, like I did with the stencil and over the cloud die cut or putting it over color, like I did on the Unicorn's horn.  You can also add a few drops of your Copic Various Ink Refill to match any project you are working on.  How cool is that?!

Look how sparkly the Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste looks on the unicorn's horn.  Also, his teeny tiny tongue just cracks me up!

~ A Heartfelt Thank You ~

Happy Friday,

Today's theme for La-La Land's Inspiration Friday is to make a thank you card.  Isn't Paper Doll Winter Marci absolutely darling?!  I just love her eyelashes!!!  She is all snuggly warm in her fuzzy hat, sweater and mittens which I created using my Various Ink Colorless Blender and a piece of terry cloth.

I created her stockings with my .05 Multi-liner.  Marci is after all a fashionable paper doll!

~ Wishing You Peace, Love & Joy ~

This is my last card in my monochromatic with a pop of color series.  I used DoveArt's "Pine Bough" from Whimsy Stamps.  I stamped the Pine Bough three times cutting out two of the pinecones and popping them up on top of the frames.  I also made a tunnel type card by layering the Basic Stitched Oval Dies from the smallest to the biggest to really give the card depth.

Always remember...you do not have to use traditional colors to make a statement...think outside the box and color the way that makes YOU happy!!!

~ My Heart Belongs to You ~

Today's La-La Land Craft's Inspiration Friday theme is to make an interactive card and I just can't resist making a shaker card. They are super fun to make and your friends and family love receiving them!

La-La Land's Postage Stamp Dies really make it easy to send a message of love.  I also used the Ric Rac Die to make it look like a postage cancellation stamp.  I paper-pieced her outfit with tiny dot paper and added a heart to her cheek using Copic R21 and white dots to her other cheek using a white Gelly Roll Pen.  I wanted the heart she is making with her hands to have dimension so I added some shimmer with Spectrum Noir's Sparkle Brush Pen and Tonic Nuvo's Crystal Glaze.

~ Trick-or-Treat...Who Can It Be? ~

Thinking of You Marci is all set to go trick or treating!  The theme for today's Inspiration Friday is turquoise and black.  I tried coloring up Marci in traditional colors, however, as I was coloring her she kept telling me she really wanted to be Franken"Marci" for Halloween.  Yes, when I am creating, my stamps and designs tend to talk to me either as I am actually in the process of creating or in my dreams.  It may sound crazy but I am ok with that...lol...and Marci is now very happy and ready to trick or treat!

You can't be a Franken"Marci" without a few scars and bolts, which I added with my multi-liner, a touch of turquoise tint (BG10) and some platform shoes.  Plus, she makes such a cute Franken"Marci" I felt she needed a spiderweb crown to complete her outfit!

La-La Land's Icicle Border Die reminds me of Frankenstein's hair so I couldn't help but add that to my card to give it an extra spooky look and you can't go trick-or-treating without something to put your treats in so I cut off the pumpkin from the the little girl in the Happy Boo To You Clear Stamp Set and gave it to Franken"Marci" to put all her goodies in.

Now for the important part!  "Thinking of You Marci" is a cute little girl in an adorable outfit and in order for me to create her costume I needed to add a few embellished details.  When you add details such as a nose, stitches, bolts, etc., like I have done on Marci, this is called "Creative Color Placement and/or Details."  I asked Irina Blount, the owner of La-La Land Crafts, if it would be ok with her if I added these details.  Irina was gracious enough to allow me to be creative and listen to what Marci wanted!  Every company has their own Angel Policy and it's usually listed on their website.  If you do not see it posted, you need to contact them and get permission before you change someone else's artwork. There are some companies and artists who will not allow you to enhance or change their images...so please be respectful and check first and honor their wishes...Thank You!

~ 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration - Night 24 ~

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 24 of Whimsy Stamp's 2nd Annual 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration!  I am sharing with you again the card I made using my all time favorite stamp, Hot Sip, from the DoveArt's line of rubber stamps.  This stamp is so versatile and can be used with many different techniques.  I've chosen paper piecing and embossing for this Halloween project.

I first stamped the Hot Sip image onto pattern paper and then trimmed around the image and cut out the inside of the handle.  I then inked and stamped the steam with a sandy colored pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I cut a slit into the top of the image and slid the steam down into it and taped it to the back of the cup to keep it in place.  I added Snow Cap White Dimensional Fabric Paint from Tulip to make the  whipped cream and added vintage glass glitter for some chocolate bits for my latte.  Yummm!  To make the coffee cup look curved I first inked around the edges of the cup to give it some depth and shadow and adhered it to my card using different heights of dimensional foam tape so it would stay curved on my card.

    ~ A Heartfelt Harvest Thank You ~

Hi Everyone....I'm back today showcasing another card from my monochromatic with a pop of color series.  I think this DoveArt's "Pumkin Patch" Stamp from Whimsy Stamps looks stunning in this color combination proving that you do not always have to color things in their traditional color schemes.

Adding a pop of red behind each letter really gives the word "Thanks" that 3D look.  I stamped a portion of the Pumpkin Patch image a second time to ensure that the heart was cut out exactly where I wanted it to and then I colored it in the reds before adhering it to the pumpkin.  That way I didn't ruin my colored version if I didn't like it.  The heart on the small pumpkin was done using the brush nib of my R29.  I added rhinestones to the flower centers and randomly inside the oval to add to the dimension and to balance the card design.

    ~ A Special La-La Land Treat Bag for My Boo-tiful Friend ~

Today's La-La Land Crafts Team Friday Inspiration's Challenge was to create a treat holder.  I had so much fun creating this treat bag including the pattern.  I decided to make my treat bag big so i could fit a lot of Reeses Peanut Butter Pumpkins in it since they are my absolute favorite!  YUM!!!

I couldn't help myself...I wanted the back of the treat bag to be cute, too!

    How fun is this bag?!!!

La-La Land has so many incredible dies that it allows your imagination to be able to run free and create until your hearts content!  I used the Stitched Zigzags Die to die cut three different colors of cardstock and intertwined them together. I totally love how easy this was to do and how fantastic it looks!  I offset two different colors of cardstock using the Cobweb Die and the spider from the Spiderweb & Spider Die Set so they would stand out.  I added rhinestone eyes to the spiders to make them look extra creepy.  The ghosts and bats are adhered on both sides of the wire so they look like they are flying through the air.
