~ Love Is All You Need Card In A Box - La-La Land Crafts ~

Hello everyone and welcome!

Today's Inspiration Friday challenge over at La-La Land Crafts is to make a 3D PROJECT.  I decided to really challenge myself and make something I had never made before, a card in a box.  Boy, was it fun to create and it is so stinkin' cute!

My project centers around the sentiment, love is all you need.  When I saw the sentiment and the piggies holding hands in the Hogs And Kisses Clear Stamp Set, it reminded me of the Michael Jackson/Lionel Richie song, We Are the World.  The COVID-19 is not just affecting us here in the USA but the entire world.  We all need to work together to do our part to get rid of this terrible virus.  Staying home and making handmade kindness may seem to be a small effort in helping to eradicate the virus but it can truly help change someones life by letting them know they are thought of, cared for, and loved in these uncertain times.

WE ARE THE WORLD

There comes a time
When we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can't go on
Pretending day-by-day
That someone, somewhere soon make a change
We're all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know, love is all we need

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me

Oh, send them your heart
So they know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
And so we all must lend a helping hand

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
Oh, there's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me

When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well let us realize
Oh, that a change can only come
When we stand together as one, yeah, yeah, yeah...

These piggies are so cute and so much fun to color.  I love their little bellies!  I always have to give them a sweet little belly button...lol

In order to fit all four piggies across, I had to make a horizontal style card in a box.  Here is a quick little tutorial on how to make this fun little project.

INSTRUCTIONS
- You will need to cut a piece of white cardstock to 11" x 4 1/4" for the base of your box.
- Along the long edge, score at 3 3/4", 5 1/4", 9 and 10 1/2".
- Rotate and score at 2 1/8".
- Cut down the horizontal score lines to the center. Remove the top half of the 1/2" tab.
- Trim down the front and side flaps to 1 1/2" leaving the back flap at 2 1/8".
- Cut designer paper layers to decorate your box and adhere.
- Fold box along score lines and adhere 1/2" tab to the inside of box.
- Cut (2) 2" x 4 1/2" pieces of cardstock for your inserts.  Score at 3/8" and 4 1/8".  Cut in half to create two 1" pieces for a total of 4 inserts.
- Adhere diecuts to inserts and adhere to the inside of your box.
- Color piggies and adhere to hill diecut using dimensional foam tape.

~ I Believe In You - La-La Land Crafts ~

Hello my friends!

Welcome to my Inspiration Friday project where GREEN and GOLD is the theme for this week's challenge.  Now I know St. Patrick's Day has past by by a few days, so I tweaked my project to be more versatile just by changing the sentiment.  Not only can you use this card for St. Patty's Day but it could be used to wish someone luck, congratulations, being Irish (*wink, *wink), etc.  The possibilities are endless!

My vision was to create a window card that you could actually see a portion of the inside of the card and when you opened it up...Wa-Lah!  A magical Pandachaun finding a hidden pot of gold is hiding inside.  I do believe in Pandachauns...don't you?  LOL

When I look at the scene I have created, the words to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" pop into my head.

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow"

When all the world is a hopeless jumble
And the raindrops tumble all around
Heaven opens a magic lane

When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There's a rainbow highway to be found
Leading from your windowpane

To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain

Somewhere, over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere, over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are
Far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere, over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh, why can't I?

If happy little birds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I?

The song is about hope, that the bad times we are experiencing right now will one day be over.  It is this feeling of hope within the song that we can all relate and need to hang on to.

I created the clovers by using mini heart diecuts from the Hearts Flurry Die and adhering them to diecuts cut from the Flower Bunch Die.  There are a total of 96 diecut and colored mini hearts that make up a total of 15 clovers.  As you can see, when you open up the card, the clovers in the window box are actually double sided.

There was a lot of love and time spent coloring up and creating these clovers but when I look at them sitting there in the window box, well, they just make me happy.  I remember spending countless hours rummaging through clover patches as a child looking for that one lucky 4-leaf clover.  Oh, the thrill I felt when I actually found one!

I created the pot of gold by using the witches brew pot diecut from the Halloween House Add-On Die Set and adhering gold sequins together in a tiered fashion using a strong quick drying tacky glue for the gold coins.  The sequins are actually very shiny and sparkly but I had a hard time getting a good photo showing this very lucky Pandachauns's shiny treasure.

~ Happy Birthday Gift Card Holder - La-La Land Crafts

Hello My Crafty Peeps!

This week's Inspiration Friday theme over at La-La Land Crafts is ANYTHING GOES.  For my project today, I decided to make a gift card holder on the front of my card using a couple of awesome dies that I haven't had a chance to use before and an adorable Panda from one of my favorite stamp sets called Great News.

To create the gift card holder I used two different pocket dies, the Floral Pocket Die and the horizontal pocket from the Horizontal Pocket Die Set.  The Floral Pocket Die helped bring in the delicate design from the designer paper and the delicate font from the word, birthday.  The Horizontal Pocket Die brought in a more clean and classic design point which is also used in the word, happy.  I think bringing both clean and elegant design styles together make for an eye pleasing design.  If you wanted to create a more masculine card using the same design concept, all you would have to do is change the designer paper and remove the floral pocket and doilies.

To make the doily circle, I used the Small Half Doily Die and put the two diecuts together.  I love how it adds a delicate touch to the Stitched Nested Circle diecut.  I put one of the Stitched Ribbon diecuts on top to make it look like the doily and ribbon were stitched together.

I love how adding the Floral Pocket diecut totally transformed and enhanced my design.

Here is a photo without the gift card inside.  Instead of giving a gift card, you could definitely choose to add tags with sweet birthday messages on them, cash (everybody loves cash...lol) or anything else you can think of the recipient would love.
