~ Whimsy Stamp's July 2019 Paper Door Kit Makes Me Smile ~

Hello My Fellow Paper Crafters!

I designed this card to make it look like this cutie was having a tasty snack.  The Giraffe Pattern Stencil that comes in the kit made the perfect embossed background for my card.  Monochromatic with a pop of color is one of my very favorite color schemes...I totally love how this project turned out!

~ Whimsy Stamps - Enjoy Making Memories ~

Welcome Whimsy Stamp Fans!

It's day three of Whimsy's newest release and I hope you are enjoying the creative journey the design team members are taking you on.  Today I am sharing with you a card I made from the Enjoy the Journey Clear Stamp Set.  This was a past Paper Door Kit and is now available for everyone to purchase.  Male cards can be very hard to make and this set makes it so easy.  There are so many different creative possibilities.

This steam locomotive looks amazing colored in grayscale.  I absolutely love making black and white cards...I think they make such an elegant statement!

The Notched Rectangles Die Set was the perfect die set to use.   I love how the train looks like it is literally coming out of the tunnel!

~ Day 2 of Whimsy Stamp's May 2019 Release ~

Hello My Crafty Peeps!

Welcome to Day 2 of Whimsy Stamps May Release.  Today I am showcasing the new Tree Swing Cling Stamp and their new Scratchy Plaid Background Stamp.  When I started designing for Whimsy's new release, I had not planned on it being all monochromatic.   If you follow me, you know it is one of my favorite ways to color.  One, I love the way it looks and two, I love showing how to look at images from a different point of view.  This Tree Swing image is beautiful all on it's own.  You can color it in color as if it is full of life or you can color it in grayscale representing a beautiful life lived.  Being able to use an image in multiple ways and for multiple occasions is important to me, as I am sure it is for you.

I love a good background stamp and the new Scratchy Plaid Background Stamp has so many possibilities...I can't wait to use it on future projects!

~ Introducing Whimsy Stamp's New May 2019 Release ~

Hello Friends!

Welcome to Whimsy Stamp's new May release.  This hilarious frog stamp is from Dustin Pike's new Gnome Me So Well Clear Stamp Set.  This lil' guy just cracks me up!  He's been hangin' out amongst the shrooms finding some tasty snacks.

Whimsy's Peekaboo Window 3 Die is one of my favorite dies.  It has so many creative possibilities!  It certainly made it easy for this froggie to keep a ninja eye out for his next delicious victims...lol

Speaking of eyes...I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to his eyes to add character, dimension and a little extra fun to this cutie.

To create the mushroom border, I used a mini post-it note as a mask.  This is such an easy technique to use when you want to add extra images.

~ Day Two of La-La Land Craft's April 2019 Showcase ~

HI Friends!

I'm back today to share another beautiful image from La-La Land Craft's new April 2019 Showcase.  This angel from the new Sympathy Clear Stamp Set is incredibly ethereal.  Besides making an incredibly gorgeous sympathy card, she would make the perfect baptism, First Communion, confirmation and even a blessings for baby card.

This release is not only full of beautiful new images but awesome new dies and stencils.  I am totally in love with the new Mandala Doily Die!  I partially added it around the new oval dies to make it look like a crown.  It reminds me of a crown a little girl would wear on her First Communion or a crown a queen would wear.

I embossed the sympathy die cut with WOW!'s White Puff Twinkling Embossing Glitter.  It has the perfect amount of twinkle without overpowering the image and design of the card.  You can see the awesome texture the new stencils give when they are dry embossed.

Heigh Ho

Happy Friday Everyone!

I don't know about you, but these gnomes from La-La Land Craft's "Best Gnomies Clear Stamp Set" remind of the dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  I kept envisioning these cuties in black and white, even though Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney's first full-length animated feature film in color.  I also kept finding myself humming their marching song, Heigh Ho, so I decided to make up my own little diddy to that tune...and it goes like this:

We stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp in our craft room the whole day through
To stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to make a card quick
If you color up with a Copic
It's a card! It's a card! It's a card! It's a card!

We stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp from early morn till night
We stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp, stamp up everything in sight
We make up cards by the score
Sometimes using a thousand dies or more
But we don't know what we make 'em for
We stamp stamp stamp a-stamp stamp

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to craft we go...

Now you know why I design cards and not write song lyrics for a living...*wink *wink

This card was pure joy to color and design!

Just look at their adorable faces...don't you just want to pinch their little cheeks?!

~ Whimsy Stamps...Wish Upon a Star ~

Whimsy Stamp's newest angel is "Angel Nevaeh" designed by Marina Fedotova.  She has the sweetest angelic face and she would be perfect for a baptism, first communion, confirmation, new baby or even for a birthday card.  I decided to color her in one of my favorite styles, monochromatic.  I totally love how she turned out and think this style makes for a stunning card!

I used the scalloped edge of the Shaker Maker Pennant Flags Die Set to add to the bottom edge of polka dot paper.  I really like the scalloped edge of this pennant die as it is not a perfect scallop...I like that it has a slight wonkiness to the edges.

~ Day One of La La Land Craft's 2019 CHA Release ~

Hello Everyone and welcome to day one of La La Land Craft's new CHA Release.  It is going to be an exciting few days sharing with you all the new crafty goodness coming your way!  The Traveling Cats Clear Stamp Set is just too cute for words.  This 'lil guy reminded me of my dad when I was a child.  He was a navigator in the Air Force and I would see him in his olive green jumpsuit when we would go visit him at the base, so I couldn't resist making this 'lil guy one, too!  I made the accent die pieces in navy as that is the main color of the Air Force and because my dad traveled, I made the card look like luggage and used the label die from the Curved Pocket Die Set and the Large Stitched Tags Die Set to make a luggage tag.  I, of course, had to make it into a shaker card.  You know how much I love a shaker card!

I just adore this card and I hope you do, too!

~ Trick-or-Treat...Who Can It Be? ~

Thinking of You Marci is all set to go trick or treating!  The theme for today's Inspiration Friday is turquoise and black.  I tried coloring up Marci in traditional colors, however, as I was coloring her she kept telling me she really wanted to be Franken"Marci" for Halloween.  Yes, when I am creating, my stamps and designs tend to talk to me either as I am actually in the process of creating or in my dreams.  It may sound crazy but I am ok with that...lol...and Marci is now very happy and ready to trick or treat!

You can't be a Franken"Marci" without a few scars and bolts, which I added with my multi-liner, a touch of turquoise tint (BG10) and some platform shoes.  Plus, she makes such a cute Franken"Marci" I felt she needed a spiderweb crown to complete her outfit!

La-La Land's Icicle Border Die reminds me of Frankenstein's hair so I couldn't help but add that to my card to give it an extra spooky look and you can't go trick-or-treating without something to put your treats in so I cut off the pumpkin from the the little girl in the Happy Boo To You Clear Stamp Set and gave it to Franken"Marci" to put all her goodies in.

Now for the important part!  "Thinking of You Marci" is a cute little girl in an adorable outfit and in order for me to create her costume I needed to add a few embellished details.  When you add details such as a nose, stitches, bolts, etc., like I have done on Marci, this is called "Creative Color Placement and/or Details."  I asked Irina Blount, the owner of La-La Land Crafts, if it would be ok with her if I added these details.  Irina was gracious enough to allow me to be creative and listen to what Marci wanted!  Every company has their own Angel Policy and it's usually listed on their website.  If you do not see it posted, you need to contact them and get permission before you change someone else's artwork. There are some companies and artists who will not allow you to enhance or change their images...so please be respectful and check first and honor their wishes...Thank You!
