~ Whimsy Stamps...Wish Upon a Star ~

Whimsy Stamp's newest angel is "Angel Nevaeh" designed by Marina Fedotova.  She has the sweetest angelic face and she would be perfect for a baptism, first communion, confirmation, new baby or even for a birthday card.  I decided to color her in one of my favorite styles, monochromatic.  I totally love how she turned out and think this style makes for a stunning card!

I used the scalloped edge of the Shaker Maker Pennant Flags Die Set to add to the bottom edge of polka dot paper.  I really like the scalloped edge of this pennant die as it is not a perfect scallop...I like that it has a slight wonkiness to the edges.

~ Whimsy Stamps....We Go Perfectly Together ~

Whimsy Stamp's "We Go Perfectly Together" Clear Stamp Set" has to be hands down one of the most fun stamp sets to play with!  I cannot tell you how much fun I had coloring up these cuties!!!  If you are in a crafty slump or just need some cheering up, I recommend sitting down and playing with this set.  It will definitely brighten up your day!

I thought making shaker tags out of this set would make perfect additions to add to any gift or leave in a loved one's lunch or if they travel, their suitcase.

I added some shaker bits, sequins, baking sprinkles and Tonic Crystal Glaze to enhance these super adorable shaker tags.  How fun are these cuties?!

I used The Stamp Doctor's Tag Topper #1 to turn Whimsy Stamp's Shaker Maker Banner Die into a tag.  The Stamp Doctor has several different designs to choose from.  These handy dandy Tag Toppers can turn anything into a tag.  Love them!!!

I could seriously make these all day!!!

~ Day 3 of La-La Land Craft's February Showcase ~

Welcome to Day 3 of La-La Land Craft's February 2019 Showcase.  Today I am featuring the Take It Sloth Clear Stamp Set.  Seriously, can this sloth be any cuter?!  This card would make an adorable anniversary card or just to tell someone special how much you love them.  This cutie would warm the cockles of anyone's heart!

I love being able to use my supplies in multiple ways and La-La Land's layering stencils make a great embossed background when you run them through your die-cutting/embossing machine.  All you need is a rubber mat to add to your plate sandwich to create this awesome look.

~ Day 2 of La-La Land Craft's February 2019 Showcase ~

Day 2 of  La-La Land Craft's  February 2019 Showcase is dancing right along and I am featuring Marci With Headphones.  I had a blast creating this adorable outfit just for Marci.  I couldn't resist doing my leopard print technique on her blouse and to the tops of her booties...I totally love how they turned out!

For her skirt, I used my blender pen to create the pattern and my blending solution and a texture rag to give it texture.  Using my multiliner pen, I added an argyle pattern to her socks and hairbands.  You know how Marci loves being a fashionista! She can now dance away in style while listening to music on her headphones.

La-La Land has awesome background stamps and layering stencils!  They are fun to use to create your own background paper and to give your projects depth and texture.  The background stamp that comes in the Hello Lovely Background Stamp Set is definitely going to be a favorite of mine for sure!

~ Introducing La-La Land Craft's February 2019 Showcase ~

La-La Land Craft's new "Love Box" collection is now available individually and is February's Showcase.  For my first project, I am using the new Java Nice Day Clear Stamp Set.  This set is perfect for all the coffee lovers out there!

I created a chalkboard A-frame sign using the Wood Planks Background Stamp and Distress Inks.  Super fun and super easy to do.  I love how the woodgrain turned out to look like old barn wood.  The attention to detail in La-La Land Craft's stamps is amazing!  For the wallpaper of my cafe, I stamped the plaid background from the Just For You Background Stamp Set in Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and embossed the hearts background from the Hearts Forever Background Stamp Set on top using white embossing powder.  For the bottom half of the wall, I embossed my cardstock using the Harlequin Layering Stencil and for the chair rail I added a wood plank strip I had leftover from making my sign for that added charming cafe touch.

I used white embossing powder to give that milky foam look and used my Copic Markers to color in that yummy coffee color.  Doesn't it make you want a cuppa yourself?!  I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to the saucer to make a fun polka dot pattern and a white Gelly Roll Pen to add dots to the rim of the coffee cup.  Everything tastes better using a cute cup and saucer!

~ What Comes in This Kit ~

For my first card, I created a quaint little scene using this adorable kitty hanging up her laundry on a beautiful spring day.  This scene brings back childhood memories of me helping my grandma hang up clothes on the clothesline in my grandparent's backyard in Tennessee.  I used to love to look out the window and watch the clothes sway in the breeze.  My grandpa loved Roses and grew them in their backyard so I couldn't resist but add them to my little scene.

What is a little kitty to do when she isn't quite tall enough to reach the clothesline?  That's right...she stacks the laundry baskets.  She is a very resourceful kitty!

My second card is...you guessed it, a shaker card!  When I saw the adorable washing machine die, I couldn't help but turn it into a shaker card.  This little kitty is patiently waiting for all her socks to get clean.  Hopefully none will go missing.  Oh you know, we all have had socks  mysteriously disappear in the washing machine!

I added Diamond Dust to my shaker card to make it look like there were sudsy soap bubbles swishing in the water getting all the kitties socks clean.

~ La-La Land Tutorial Thursday....Hogs & Kisses Shaker Card ~

Hello Everyone!

Nicolette here sharing with you today a step-by step tutorial on how to make one of my very favorite things to do....a shaker card.  I love tags and I LOVE making shaker cards so I decided to combine the two!!!

~ Here is What You Need ~

~ La-La Land Crafts ~

~ Copics ~
Pig:  R00 R01 R02
Hooves:  C1 C3 C5 C7
Flower:  Y11 Y17 Y18
Cast Shadow:  BV20

~ Misc. Items Used ~
Nuvo: Ebony Black Crystal Drops
Champagne Rhinestones
Twill Ribbon
Cheesecloth
Sequins
Acetate

~ Step-by-Step ~

STEP 1:  Color image with Copics or coloring medium of choice.  Trim around image. Add Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops to center of flower.  Set aside to dry.

STEP 2:  Die cut two white tags using the second largest tag from the Large Stitched Tags Die Set.  Using the smooth edged heart die from the Scalloped Heart Die Set, die cut the heart out of one of the tags.  Make sure to NOT cut the heart too close to the edges of the tag.  You need room to add foam tape around the edge to make the shaker.  I use an easy to release tape to make sure my die doesn't shift while die cutting.

STEP 3:  Using the heart stencil from the Hearts & Harlequin Layering Stencil Set, emboss the tag you just cut the heart out of.  This will create the window for the shaker.

STEP 4:  Using the second smallest flag from the Long Flags Die Set, die cut a flag from white cardstock and one from black cardstock.  Stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  This is my favorite ink to stamp sentiments from clear stamp sets.  It gives a crisp black image.

STEP 5:  Using the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Scalloped Rectangles Die Set, die cut a black piece of cardstock.  Cut a 4 3/4" x # 1/4" piece of patter paper and adhere to the black scalloped rectangle.  Set aside.  Adhere white flag offset to black flag...this will leave a small black edge on the right side.

STEP 6:  Lay flag with sentiment on top of tag with heart window and place where you want it to go.  Lay tag die on top and secure with an easy to release piece of tape.  Remove from tag and die cut the flag.  See picture above to see what it will look like after doing this step.

STEP 7:  Using the same heart die as above, die cut a heart from pattern paper.  Lay the tag with the heart opening on top of the other tag.  Adhere adhesive to back of heart and adhere heart to tag through the heart opening.  This will allow perfect placement for the heart onto the tag.

STEP 8:  Using the tag reinforcement die from the Large Stitched Tags Die Set, die cut a reinforcement out of black cardstock, fold over and adhere to top of tag.  Cut a 3" x 3" piece of heavy weight acetate and adhere to back of tag.

STEP 9:  Adhere a double layer of foam tape all around the tag and to the back of the colored image.  Make sure there are no openings around the heart shape so the shaker bits will not fall out.  I always use a double layer of foam tape to make my shaker cards...this gives the shaker bits room to move around.

STEP 10:  Lay your shaker bits of choice on top of the heart shape making sure none of the shaker bits are hanging out past the edge of the heart.  Line up and adhere the tag with the window on top.

STEP 11:  Using my Copic R02 Marker, I colored a piece of twill to match my image.  I colored both sides of the ribbon.  This is a great technique to use when you do not have the perfect color of ribbon to use on your project!  Make sure it dries before tying to your project.

STEP 12: Adhere foam tape to the back of the shaker tag, the black scalloped rectangle and to the flag.  Remove only part of the backing of foam tape on the tag where you want to add the cheesecloth.  Stretch and scrunch the cheesecloth to your liking.  Add adhesive to the cheesecloth.  I just use my tape runner.

STEP 13:  Remove the backing from the foam tape and adhere pieces to card base.  Mine is an A2 card (4 1/4" x 11...scored at 5 1/2").

STEP 14:  Adhere rhinestone to flag.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial on how to make a shaker card and it inspires you to make one, too!!!

Happy Stamping!
