~ Paper Smooches...Hey Chickie ~

I have been a huge fan of Kim Hughes and her adorable stamp line called Paper Smooches from the very beginning.  My favorite images she has created are by far her Chubby Chum series of characters.  I have been anxiously waiting to use them and I felt these chickies were the perfect addition to my new spring class being held at Kim's adorable paint and wine studio, Our Creative Escape, on March 30th.  You can find all the details and sign up online HERE.

I created the egg by using Whimsy Stamp's largest oval die from their Basic Stitched Oval Die Set and Paper Smooches zigzag die from their Borders 3 Die Set.  What a perfect combination to create a cracked Easter egg.  I embossed the egg with the Wire Fence Embossing Folder that Whimsy carries to give the egg texture and make it look like a Faberge Egg.  To make the die cut zigzag strips look like egg yolk where the egg is cracked, I colored them with Y35 and Y38.

What's Easter without Peeps?!  I added ultra-fine iridescent glitter to the chickies to make them look like sugary Easter Peeps. Yum!

This is what the chickies look like before the glitter.

~ Whimsy Stamps...Mariposa ~

Hi All,

Sharing with you another card I have created for my new class being held at Our Creative Escape in Goodyear, Arizona on March 30th.  You can find all the details and register online HERE

This adorable image from Whimsy Stamps is called Mariposa, which means butterfly in Spanish. What I love about art is that we can create and express ourselves any way we see fit.  When I look at this cute little image, I see a bee so that is how I decided to color it and I am totally in love with how my vision turned out.  Maybe next time, I will color as a butterfly...

I used the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles Die Set to cut out the image layer and the pattern paper.  These rectangle dies are by far my favorite layering dies by Whimsy.  I love the wonky stitching around the edge and they can be used whether it is a casual or elegant card.  The Honeycomb Pattern Die is so delicate.  It adds the perfect sweetness to this card.

~ La-La Land Crafts....Take It Sloth ~

Happy Friday Everyone!

I have created another adorable card using La-La Land Craft's "Take It Sloth" Clear Stamp Set.  These sloths have the right idea in life by hanging out and taking it "sloth"!  Since this little guy is hanging out from the tree tops, I added some greenery using La-La Land's Two Branches Die Set and the Heart Wreath Die because it looks like vines to me.  I really love how these dies pulled my vision together to give the illusion he is truly hanging out in the trees.

Did you know that you can dry emboss using La-La Land Craft's stencils by running them through your embossing/diecutting machine using a rubber mat?  Being able to use a product multiple ways is very important to me.  I love having options!

~ Whimsy Stamps...Cute From Any Angle Carrot Shaker Tag ~

Easter is by far my favorite holiday!  What's not to love about spring, bunnies, chickies, decorating eggs, candy, fun colors and did I mention..bunnies?!  I love bunnies....they're so fluffy and I love watching their little noses twitch!  And, since I love Easter, bunnies, tags annnnnnnnd shakers...I combined them all into this adorable carrot shaker tag...not just any ol' shaker tag but a two sided shaker tag!  Squeeeeeeeee...it's so stinkin cute!!!  This will be one of the projects I will be teaching at Our Creative Escape on March 30th from 11am - 2pm in Goodyear, Arizona.  You can sign up online HERE or click on the Class Schedule tab above for all the details and links.

Here is what the carrot tag looks like from the back.  Cute from any angle...right?!

This tag makes me so very happy!  I used The Stamp Doctor's Circle Frames 1 Tag Topper to turn this Shaker Maker Pennant Flags Die from Whimsy Stamps into a tag.  The Stamp Doctor has several different styles and sizes of tag toppers to choose from.  I love how you can turn just about anything into a tag with these dies.  Needless to say...I need them all!!!

~ Second Look at Club La-La Land Craft's February 2019 Kit ~

Hi Friends!  I am back sharing a couple more projects that I have made using the February 2019 Club Kit from La-La Land Crafts.  This kit has been so much fun to play with! Marcie is outside hanging up her freshly washed laundry on a beautiful sunshiny day.  I really enjoy dreaming up ideas on how to use my diecuts in a way they were not intended for like using these adorable clothespin diecuts and turning them into sun rays.

To make the laundry basket look like plastic, I used Nuvo Duck Egg Blue Crystal Drops on top.  I love how it gives the basket a realistic shiny plastic look not to mention the dimensional quality.

For my second project, I combined the plaid background from the Just For You Background Set and the Fishing Net Die to make a quilt.  This Kitty is enjoying the summer breeze waiting for her blanky to be dry.

This time I turned the clothespins into the clothesline posts.  I am so happy how this little scene turned out!

~ La-La Land Crafts..but first sloffee ~

Happy Friday Everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created using the uber adorable "Take It Sloth Clear Stamp Set" from La-La Land Crafts.  This cutie takes her "sloffee" seriously!

When I think of china, royal blue is the first color that comes to mind.  Royal blue and white make a stunning combination!  It's no wonder that three of the top ten china patterns are in this color scheme.  And if you are gonna be sipping your coffee out of a royal blue coffee cup, you might as well be wearing a royal blue leafy crown!

Here is a close-up picture of the embossing from the Hearts & Harlequin Layering Stencil Set.  The embossing really gives this card a rich and elegant look.
