Today's Inspiration Friday challenge is to make a shaker card.  You don't have to ask me twice to make a shaker card!  I love the interactive and fun element of a shaker card.  It gives the recipient a reason to keep picking up the card.  Every time they give it a little shake, it brings them joy.  Isn't that what handmade kindness is all about?!

I thought using the Mandala Doily Die would not only make a really cool shaker but give my design that shabby chic country decorative look I was going for.  I added the pierced scallop die cut to hide the cut doily edges and give it a nice finishing touch.  The checkerboard background, flowers, basket and sentiment are all from the awesome Just For You Background Stamp Set.  I wanted to make it look like they were sitting on top of a table in a beautiful southern home.  I love it when my vision comes to life and it's better than I had hoped for!

~ Whimsy Stamps - Special Birthday Wishes ~

Hello My Crafty Peeps!

Today I am showcasing two awesome DoveArt Stamps by Whimsy Stamps.  One is my all time favorite, called Stream Runs Through.  I have used this stamp a couple of times before and I keep finding different ways to use it and color it.  You can see them HERE and HERE.  This time I decided I wanted to combine it with the Gazebo Stamp.  I had the idea to cut out the windows of the Gazebo so you would be able to see the beautiful view of the Stream Runs Through behind it.  Adding the Sun Rays Stencil, really makes this creation a beauty to behold!



As you can see, I colored the stream and the grass in between the railings of the Gazebo to really convey the view and the depth of the scene.  I would love to be sitting in this Gazebo watching the sun rise or set....how peaceful!



To make the Gazebo appear more realistic, I was able to round it and attach it to my card by using dimensional foam tape at different heights.

Happy Friday My Crafty Peeps!

Today's Inspiration Friday Challenge is to create a 3-D project.  I have chosen to make an easel card for my crafty make.



I thought it would be fun to have this adorable giraffe peeking up amongst the clouds.  I just bought this Stitched Clouds Die Set and I totally love these dies!  They both have unique puffy cloud scallops and work so well together.  You can never have too many choices in cloud dies!  I can tell I will be using this die set a lot on future projects.



I stamped the heart background stamp from the Hearts Forever Background Stamp Set in Memento Summer Sky Ink to represent the sky.  I chose the heart background as a subliminal message of love being sent along with the supportive message.  We all not only need to receive encouragement from time to time but we also need to give it.  What better way to do that than with a cute card...and who doesn't love a cutie patootie giraffe?!



Seriously, who could resist smiling and being encouraged by this doe eyed cutie?!!!

~ Whimsy Stamps - Always Remember ~

Hello Whimsy Fans!

Today I am sharing with you a tutorial on how I made this flag shaker card honoring our military.  It is so important to remember where our freedom comes from and the sacrifices not only they but their families have given for us to be free.  I, myself, have experienced and seen the sacrifices having had a father serving in the Air Force and being a child during the Vietnam War.  We also need to remember that many sacrifices are suffered years after serving not only in their health but in their memories.  May we never take for granted the freedom we have at the sacrifice of others!



~ Step by Step Tutorial ~



Step 1.  Cut white cardstock at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4" to create a card base.

Step 2.  Die cut a piece of white linen cardstock using the largest Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles Die.  Adhere to card base.

Step 3.  Cut a piece of blue cardstock at 5" x 3 3/4".

Step 4.  Cut a piece of white cardstock at 4 3/4" x 3 5/8".

Step 5.  Cut (4) pieces of red cardstock strips and (3) pieces of white linen cardstock  strips at 5 1/8" x 1/2".

Step 6.  Using the straight stitched border die from the Stitched Border Die Trio Set, add stitching to the red and white strips of cardstock.  This die doesn't cut, it only adds stitching.



Step 7.  Adhere strips to white cardstock in Step 4.  Trim edges of strips to fit white cardstock.  Adhere to blue cardstock from Step 3.  Adhere to card using foam tape.



Step 8.  Die cut (2) large dog tags from the Military Die Set out of blue cardstock.

Step 9.  Die cut a medium sized dog tag out of (1) large dog tag.  This will create the shaker opening.



Step 10.  Turn dog tag over and adhere a 1 1/4" x 2" piece of acetate.



Step 11.  Adhere foam tape on top of acetate.



Step 12.  Add shaker bits.  I added tiny stars.



Step 13.  Adhere remaining large dog tag die cut to create shaker.



Step 14.  Add a star die cut from white linen cardstock using the star die from the Military Die Set.  Add chain, if desired.  Adhere to card using foam tape...this will allow room for the chain.



Step 15.  Die cut the military service personnel from the Military Die Set out of black cardstock.  Adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 16.  Stamp sentiment.  I used "Always Remember" from the Military Heroes Clear Stamp Set.  Trim 1/8" away from sentiment.  Adhere to blue piece of cardstock.  Adhere to card using foam tape.

~ La-La Land Craft's Tutorial Thursday - Fox Den ~

Hi La-La Land Craft Fans!

I am not a story teller by nature, however, I have found I love to tell a story through my card designs.  This adorable little momma fox from the Spring Woodland Critters Clear Stamp Set  is guarding her den full of pups.  Her cozy little woodland den even has a chimney.  I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

~ Step by Step Instructions ~

Step 1.  Cut white cardstock at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4" to create a card base.

Step 2.  Color Fox with listed Copics.  Trim around image.

Step 3.  Die cut a white piece of cardstock using the largest Scalloped Rectangle Die.

Step 4.  Cut black cardstock at 3 1/4" x 4 7/8".  Adhere to scalloped rectangle die cut.

Step 5.  Cut white cardstock at 3 1/4" x 4 7/8".  Stamp wood plank background stamp using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  Color woodgrain with listed Copics. 

Step 6.   Using the largest Stitched Circle Die, die cut a partial circle.  Adhere archway to white scalloped die cut.  

Step 7.   Using third largest Stitched Circle Die, die cut a partial circle out of largest circle die cut.  Adhere this piece inside of archway using a double layer of foam tape.

Step 8.  Using  the second smallest Stitched Circle Die, die cut a partial circle die cut.  Adhere this piece inside archway using a triple layer of foam tape.

Step 9.  Die cut (1) Lattice Doily Border, (1) Mushroom and Grass Border, (1) Stump, and (3) Pinecone Boughs from white cardstock.

Step 10.  Color mushrooms and grass with listed Copics.  Adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 11.  Color pinecones and stump with listed Copics.  

Step 12.  Color pine boughs with listed Copics.

Step 13.  Adhere pine boughs to card using foam tape.  Adhere pinecones to boughs using foam tape.

Step 14.  Adhere stump to large circle die cut using foam tape to make it look like a chimney.

Step 15.  Adhere Lattice Doily Border.  Adhere final piece to card using foam tape.

Step 16.  Adhere fox to card using foam tape.  Adhere rhinestones to flowers.
